The mission of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame is to honor the music, musicians and related institutions that have made a significant contribution to Kansas and the Greater Kansas City area. Our purpose is to recognize those of the past, present and encourage those of the future. With the future in mind, the Kansas Music Hall of Fame is announcing the establishment of its annual 2020 Student Scholarship. The annual award of $1500 will honor any senior music students in Kansas. Applicants are required to submit an online application including a video audition. All materials may be submitted online at: KMHoF Scholarship Application.The scholarship award will be determined by: 1) annual membership; and 2) personal contributions. Kansas Music Hall of Fame “Voice Your Choice” Membership Campaign

The KMHOF Board of Directors will release its list of new nominees for induction into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. We will kick-off events in Bennington and Lawrence. Everyone is welcome. Current nominees, former inductees, members, KMHOF staff, and fans are all invited.

  • Bennington: KMHOF Jam, Monday, July 1. Meet area bands and musicians at The Depot, an old Santa Fe train station, in Bennington at 200 N. Nelson. The fun begins at 6:00pm.
  • Lawrence: Treefrog Concert at Liberty Hall, June 291″, at 9:00 pm-12pm. Meet the Band and board members. Sponsored by 95.5 THE ROCK. Tickets are $15 cash at the door.

The event is supported and promoted by Rocking Media.

KMHoF Logo Contest

The Kansas Music Hall of Fame would like your help to rebrand our organization. A logo contest is our way to engage members and friends and involve them in our new direction, the 2.0 updated versions for our future. After the board reviews and judges entries, they will announce three finalists for the logo selection which will then be voted on by the membership body. Artists will be recognized at the induction ceremony and considered for contracted labor with KMHoF. All rights to logos are reserved by the KMHoF.

Scholarship, Board changes: Press Release

The Kansas Music Hall of Fame (KMHOF) is announcing the establishment of a scholarship fund for graduating Kansas high school seniors who demonstrate extraordinary musical abilities. The KMHOF board of directors met in Topeka, Ks, Sunday, June 9, to discuss infrastructure and the future of the organization. The board unanimously voted to donate 5% of all KMHOF proceeds to the establishment of a student scholarship foundation. Board vice-president, Dan Fleming commented, “We are excited to kick off our membership drive with helping kids in Kansas”!

The board voted to add three new members: Dr. Craig Treinen, Dr. David Wiggins, and Ms. Beth Meyers. Donald Wagner was also added as an advisory member. Board President Allen Blasco commented, “The new board members add to the excitement and energy we need to get things going. These people are game changers”. The current KMHOF board consists of Allen Blasco, President; Danny Fleming, Vice-President; Lynn Fleming, Secretary/Treasurer; Larry Miller, board member; Mary McGee, board member; and Justice B. King, Legal Counsel.

Other actions included approval of the KMHOF mission statement, bylaws, and budget appropriations. The board also established action committees dedicated to membership, marketing, and hospitality. Upcoming events include the July 1 KMHOF Voice Your Choice nomination/membership kick-off campaign supporting the KMHOF Scholarship fund.
